First Aid training is an important skill we all benefit from. I was really pleased when Mrs King asked if she could organise basic first aid training over 2 weeks for all our Form 7 and 8 pupils. This forms part of our PSHCE curriculum. Mrs King teaches PSHCE and RSE to Forms 5-8 and she is photographed here in the recovery position which is rather apt!

I must congratulate Mrs Lesley Nolan-Stone, Mr Vanburgh and all our peripatetic music teachers for their hard work in preparing children for their recent ABRSM Results. We are delighted with the results and well done to all the children who took an exam.

It was a pleasure to hand them out in assembly today.

In the same assembly, children in the Senior and Junior Choirs were surprised with new colour coded choir badges. These were well deserved, and we enjoyed having the choirs back at our Christmas Service. Disappointingly, Mrs Nolan-Stone had not organised badges for the staff choir. Maybe next term.

It has been a bright, chilly day at school. Children were quick to line up for hot chocolate organised by Kerry at break this morning!

On Wednesday, the U10, U11, U12 enjoyed going to Sherborne Prep to play a hockey fixture.

U12’s won 7-1 and Mr Holland said it was great to see all the players really pushing themselves. A fantastic team effort; they should be proud of themselves. The U11’s had a great game and well done to Rex was injured during play but returned to the match after an ice-pack break!

U13’s were at home and Mr Willemse was delighted with their 6-1 win. He told me there were strong patterns of play, all round! Excellent goals from Archie and Theo.

Friday enrichments have been as varied as ever today. Archery is always a popular activity and Mr Stazicker champions this in school for us.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
