Guy Fawkes Night has been the inspiration for Junior Prep’s learning this week.

The children have been writing poems in their English lessons, and also in maths, where they created posters with lots of mathematical shapes.

In Forest School, bonfire night safety has been an important discussion topic around the fire pit (whilst drinking hot chocolate of course!)

All around school I have been seeing beautiful hand-written posters teaching us how to stay safe on bonfire night. Nursery and Reception have been creating colourful rockets, making toffee apples and mark making in glitter and sand. Great work everyone!

Form 5 left early this morning for their history trip to the Shire Hall accompanied by Mrs King and Mr Holland. They were very excited, but not as excited as Form 3 who were in the hall making final preparations for their class assembly.

Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Hill pulled out all the stops with props and roman centurion costumes. The children’s performances were all excellent, and the dress rehearsal earlier in the week paid off. We were treated to re-enactments and comedy – excellent!

Have a lovely weekend and a safe Guy Fawkes night.
