It might be Valentine’s Day on Monday but Form 6 came up close and personal to a real heart today! Our Head of Science, Mrs Evans, organized for the children to have an opportunity to dissect the heart and lungs of an animal in class. Everyone found it fascinating and these practical sessions are a great way for pupils to bring their anatomy theory to life. Mrs Evans is busy organizing more exciting surprise activities for the forthcoming Science Week.

In Junior Prep Assembly this morning we were treated to a fabulous story written collaboratively by Form 4 as part of their ‘Write Stuff’ English lessons. The younger years were quite enthralled, as was I. I was impressed to hear the children talk so knowledgeably and enthusiastically about their use of techniques such as pathetic fallacy and metaphors. We are looking to roll out the Write Stuff program across the school and whole school training will form an important part of our next INSET day.
