Wow! What a spectacle last night’s performance of Aladdin was! The energy and enthusiasm given by every single child was magical!
I have loved to see how well everyone has supported each other throughout the build up to Aladdin. Staff have stepped in to help children learn lines, rehearse songs and dance numbers, older children have nurtured the younger ones – there have been countless examples of how, as a community, we have all pulled together to give the children the chance to shine. I can’t possibly list them all, but I must mention all the parents who have helped with the choreography, staging and props, makeup, the PTFA for buying the costumes and running the bar, the incredible team of staff who have gone above and beyond to support the production and of course the children themselves. Our leads were incredible, but to be honest there were so many stars on stage and all of the children contributed hugely to the show and we are so proud of all of them.
It is these little moments that make us so strong as a community and makes me so proud to be part of it.
I would also like to mention one very special member of staff too. Mrs Nolan-Stone would be the first to say it is all about the team effort, and she is right, but, she has led the team with great skill and I am sure you will all join me in congratulating her for a fantastic show!
As you know, creativity is a real passion of mine and how important I think it is to a child’s development and it is vital to prepare them for the future. If our Creative Arts Week and all the art work, music, dancing and acting that went into our production of Aladdin is anything to go by then your wonderful children will have a very bright future ahead of them.
As it has been Creative Arts Week, Nursery and Reception have been enjoying some creativity this week drawing the beautiful Spring flowers that adorn our school at the moment with Liz during their gardening lessons!
Form 4 have been producing some fantastic clay models for their viking topic. Some really creative and careful work. Well done Form 4!
This morning the School Council led our Red Nose Day assembly, in preparation for Tuesday, when we will be taking part in sponsored activities across the school to raise money for this wonderful charity.
This weekend I am incredibly proud to be supporting Tabitha, Amelka, Sonny, Frank and Oliver as they take part in the National Schools Biathlon in Bath. The boys will be competing on Saturday and the girls on Sunday. Well done to them all for getting so far and I am looking forward to cheering them on!
I am now off to the matinee performance of Aladdin and after last night’s performance I am even more excited! It’s going to be brilliant!
Have a wonderful and very restful weekend!
Best wishes
David
