I had the pleasure of taking Reception and Form 1 to the production of Little Robin Red Vest at the Lighthouse Theatre on Wednesday. The children absolutely loved the production! Our Bobbins children also enjoyed the production on Tuesday. It was an amazing experience for them —from hopping onto the minibus with their peers to joining in with the actors and enjoying the fantastic performance! The story was very special, teaching the children about a kind little robin who shared its vests with friends who needed them more.
On Thursday afternoon, Forms 5 and 6 enjoyed an incredible cultural experience at Sherborne School, watching the world-renowned musical Les Misérables. The children (and staff!) were captivated by the phenomenal performances, wonderful music and timeless themes of justice, resilience, and hope. Opportunities like this enrich our curriculum hugely and inspire creativity, giving pupils a chance to see literature and history truly come alive on stage. A huge thank you to Sherborne School for hosting such a memorable production!
Pupils in Form 7, together with Rosa and Aria, recently took part in an Art at Poundbury workshop, where they created beautiful birds that were on display at the Jubilee Hall in Poundbury. They were absolutely stunning and made an incredible display with all the other birds from other schools that took part.
Next week will be another fun filled week of Christmas festivities. We have our Christingle Assembly on Monday, Thursday is our Christmas day at Sunninghill – children will come to school in Christmas jumpers, enjoy carols under the stairs at 11am, Christmas lunch, and then Christmas parties and ice skating – there might even be a special visit from the big man in red! Finally, we have our carol service at 2.30pm on Friday 12th December, at St. Peter’s Church, which is one of the highlights of the year.
Tonight I am incredibly excited to watch our Christmas Cracker – a musical extravaganza which promises to be an exceptional evening of entertainment!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
David
