We have enjoyed some fabulous cooked lunches this week from our school kitchen. On a particularly cold day, Kerry and her team treated us to a beef roast dinner (a delicious vegetarian option is always available).
‘Advent’ was our theme for assembly this morning and we looked at how this special period of waiting is celebrated around the world and also by different faiths. On Monday’s assembly I am hoping to continue the advent theme and make Christingles with the children. I say hope, because Kerry tells me someone keeps eating the oranges!
Mrs Farran of ‘Integrity Martial Arts’ surprised pupils in assembly today by coming along to award them their belts after a recent grading. Each child remembered to show respect by bowing before collecting their belt. Congratulations to everyone who passed.
The reception area enjoyed being serenaded today by Katie NS during her violin lesson in the drawing room. Accompanied by Mr Vanburgh on piano and with the sun streaming, it made a timeless picture. Allegro was lovely and perhaps she will be playing in next week’s formal music concert on Friday at 7.00pm. (The informal concert is at 4.30pm on Thursday.)
This afternoon, children are enjoying a range of Friday enrichments and activities which include skiing, bouldering, yoga, meditation and DT.
We will all need a rest this weekend!
