It was the turn of Form 6 to take the assembly this morning. Mr Stazicker chose Children’s Mental Health Week as a theme and each child had previously completed a personality questionnaire to find out about their personality type. ‘Growing Together’ was a key phrase and the children were able to celebrate their differences.
The class finished their assembly with an exciting Samba performance on the drums. Thank you to Mrs Nolan-Stone for putting this together, and it was lovely to be able to welcome so many Form 6 parents who came to support the class.
Form 2 recently reached the top of their class reward ‘smiley mountain’. Today was treat time and they chose to have hot chocolate and cookies by the shepherd’s hut in the sunshine! I was very fortunate to be passing by at the time and I particularly enjoyed the unicorn marshmallows! Well done to all of Form 2 for working so hard together as a class to earn themselves this reward. For their next reward, the class have chosen a swim party so I hope they reach their class goal before the winter!
As part of their History topic on the Victorians, Mrs King tells me that Form 5 have been looking at Victorian toys. A popular past time was making Thaumatropes which are like a flick book. The children found that if they twisted and turned the string quickly a bird appears in the cage! The class went on to make other Thaumatropes, such as of a prisoner in a cell, a fish in the sea and many other ideas!
School council had their first drop in session this morning at break with Ren Ren and Lottie manning the desk. I have been given quite a long list of ideas and they certainly like to keep me on my toes! I am pleased to say there are some excellent ideas amongst them my favourite being can they have a slide in Senior Prep.
Have a lovely weekend, just 1 more week until the half-term break.
