Finally a bit of high pressure and clear night skies for us all to enjoy. The resultant frost was a real pleasure to wake up to and made our early morning dog walk so much more brisk.

A few “Notes from a Small garden” for you. The school hens are still in temporary residence with me and Bonnie. I’m not sure which one of us enjoys them most. They have free run of the garden at this time of year, clearing up all the pests and turning over the mulch in the border.

The cold weather has cleared the algal blooms in my pond and crystal clear water means great observing of habits. Brown bread and sweet corn are the winter treats to pack on a bit of weight ahead of their dormancy.

Nothing to match Bomber though who has gone into semi-retirement for the winter, awaiting his impending entombment until March.
