This morning we were treated to a James Bond themed assembly from our Head of Music & Drama, Mrs Fernley. She is currently running a new film making unit with Form 8 and the aim of this assembly was to promote a wide range of exciting careers in the British film industry. Children enjoyed the idea that Sunninghill was a secret MI6 base and Mr Stazicker stayed in role arriving in a DJ! We will be able to see the completed Form 8 film later in November.

Form 3 did not mind missing assembly because they were off to The Ancient Technology Centre today for a trip to support their topic learning.

Clubs are running well this term. It is sometimes tricky to predict what will be popular and I was impressed at the high turnout for the Form 3 and 4 lunchtime Master Spelling Club!  Mrs Johnstone told me the children enjoy logging onto their Spelling Shed account. Points mean prizes, so the more spellings they have correct, the more rewards the children have to improve their avatar!

Mr Holland and I enjoyed a sunny Wednesday afternoon coaching Form 5 and 6 football. I say I was coaching, Archie from Form 8 helped me out be taking over as referee to run a mini tournament.  Despite the initial disappointment at the cancelled planned match, it ending up being a lot of fun and they all worked well as a team.

Mr Willemse took a team of Form 7 and 8 boys to Colfox for a football match. It was a highly energetic game, with an impressive display of goal scoring from Archie which led to a 6-0 win.

Next week is our final week of the half-term and I will be meeting up with our Class Reps for their first meeting this academic year.

On Monday, we look forward to our Harvest Festival in church.
