It was a beautiful morning first thing so I went for a walk around the garden at school. Our Head Gardener, Liz ensures a steady display of colour throughout the year and the deep blue salvias were so spectacular I took a photo.
Later today, I came across Form 1 planting out pots of herbs with Liz. Arthur was particularly pleased with his and I managed to get a lovely photo of him to record the moment. My class photo proved less successful, some decided the trowels made excellent swords!
We have been pleased at see how well our Senior Prep have coped with their exams this week. With an eye on wellbeing, we have kept the process as ‘light touch’ as possible this year. I believe it is still useful for pupils to experience the exam process and to learn how to cope with the nerves which inevitably come when sitting in an exam hall!
Form 5 returned this afternoon from their action packed residential at Brenscombe Outdoor Centre. There will be a special feature on this in a blog next week with plenty of photos for you to enjoy.
Looking further ahead, plans are underway for our end of year events including swim galas and sports days. You can find more details of these on our School Ping Calendar. We are waiting for the announcement on Monday to see whether parents will all be able to attend our planned indoor events such as Speech Day and the End of Term service at St Peter’s Church on the 9th July. The Form 8 Leavers’ picnic will be able to go ahead as it is outside and we will send out information on the other events when details can be finalised.
Lastly, Junior Prep will be holding a ‘move up’ morning on the 22nd June where children will have an opportunity to spend time with their new class teacher in their new classroom. On the 29th June we have a photographer booked to take class photos and also a much overdue whole school photo. Hopefully, the photos will be completed before the Junior Prep swim gala in the afternoon or it could look slightly bedraggled!
