We had a wonderful start to school this morning as Form 3 led our assembly, with a round up of their fabulous residential! Their assembly was full of the highlights of their trip, full of humour and it was wonderful to hear them enthuse about their trip and see how they have all grown in confidence this year. It really was a wonderful assembly.

Coco’s dad, Charles, also joined us for our assembly, to talk about the incredible challenge he is undertaking for charity in June. Charles is now 6 days (or 6 miles!) into his challenge – running the equivalent number of miles to the date of the month. He invited the children, and parents, to join him during their games lessons or after school for some running company or high fives to motivate him as the challenge gets progressively harder. You can read more about Charles’ challenge and his cause ‘Underdogs Wellbeing Community Interest Company’, in our newsletter, but we really hope lots of you will support Charles for this very worthy cause.

After assembly, it was absolutely lovely to see the children join Charles for a couple of laps of the school field – they were all very excited!

This week our Academic Excellence winners were Elodie, Grace, Olivia, Oliver, Zac, Max and Vira. Well done to you all!

Today was a very exciting morning as we welcomed Simon from the ‘Circus Workshop Party’ who came to do a Circus Workshop with Junior Prep. I was lucky enough to see one of the performances and could see just how much the children enjoyed learning their new circus skills.

We were delighted to attend the Rotary Club’s Wonderful Water themed writing competition prize-giving event at Waterstones on Wednesday. Our hugely talented pupils achieved outstanding results:

Scarlett was crowned both local and district winner in the intermediate category and is now through to the national round—best of luck, Scarlett! Her writing resonated so deeply with the judges that they believe she has the potential for a future career as an author.
Intermediate Category Sweep:
• 1st Place: Scarlett
• 2nd Place: Lottie
• 3rd Place: Rosa
• Highly Commended: Vira, Millie, and Joni

Junior Category Success:
• 2nd Place: Heidi
• 3rd Place: Sasha-Mae
• Highly Commended: Anna, Rory, and Juliet

A special mention goes to Juliet (Form 1), whose powerful story about a tsunami deeply impressed the judges—an incredible achievement for someone so young. We’re immensely proud of all our young writers!

Form 7 who have been making models of plant and animal cells for their homework. Some very creative and informative (and tasty) work!

Have a wonderful, restful weekend!
