The half term holiday seems like a distant memory already as the school is back into full swing. We have had a wintery feel to the start of term and an interesting start to Tuesday morning with a tree that came down in the storm. A huge thank you to Heidi’s dad Sam for coming to the rescue and removing the tree.

We had a very successful October half term Holiday Club. It was packed with activities including baking, a trip to soft play, pumpkin carving, a Halloween party, sports, arts and craft and a film afternoon. Our Christmas Holiday Club will be running for one week from 19th to 23rd December. Booking forms and the Activities Plan can be obtained from our website from Monday 7th November on the following link:

There was a real Halloween theme this week with a spooktacular menu for Monday – witches hair (green spaghetti), zombie meatballs and vampire blood (meatballs with tomato sauce) followed by delicious bat cupcakes made by Leanne. Thank you to Kerry and her team. There were lots of other activities for the children in class and I know many were very excited about trick or treating too.

MasterChef – Do look out for Zac’s (Form 7) brother Charlie who will be appearing on MasterChef this year. We all wish him the best of luck for what will, I am sure, be an exciting and nail biting series.

It was lovely to have my first meeting with the Class Reps this week. Huge thank you to them for coming in and for all who shared thoughts ahead of the meeting. We will be meeting every half term so do please keep feeding back all the positive suggestions with areas for development. If you are not sure who your class rep is, do let me know and I can introduce you.

It was great to welcome back into school former pupil Joseph Burdge to record his audition video for the Royal Academy of Music. Joseph left Sunninghill in 2018 to study at the prestigious Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Hertfordshire. We wish Joseph all the best as he continues his musical journey.

This week we also had a film crew join us to capture the essence of our lovely school. They will be editing the content and producing a short film which we look forward to sharing with you all in the near future.

This week we heard some fantastic news about one of our very talented pupils and his latest sailing achievements. Freddie P (Form 7) has been selected for the South West Regional Training Group for the Optimist class sailing dinghy.

Freddie’s selection recognises his potential and it is his first step on the ladder within British Youth Sailing, with the aim of making it to one of the UK Youth Squads. Freddie’s selection is based, not only on performance, but also a commitment to a programme of training and competition. As a school we look forward to contributing to Freddie’s continued development.
