The grounds staff have done an excellent job in getting the school in great shape for the summer term. Paths have been ‘hoovered’ and the athletics tracks are newly painted.
Today, I enjoyed watching Form 3 made good use of the running track. Form 5 and 6 were busy practising their catching and bowling skills on the astro, whilst the seniors climbed aboard the school mini buses for their first outing of the year. The destination was the beautifully located Martinstown Cricket Club. Not so long ago, we supported the Cricket Club’s fundraising activities to purchase a defibrillator to help save lives in the local community.
Talking of lifesaving, ten members of our staff began their lifeguard refresher course last night. The evening quickly became chilly and I am hoping they get warmer weather this Friday for part 2 when they are actually in the water!
