Form 1 were very excited coming into school yesterday as they were off on a day trip to Lyme Regis Museum. The chilly weather did not put them off, and I hear a good time was had by all.
In history, Form 5 are studying the Native Americans and as an Easter holiday challenge, the children were asked to design and make a Totem Pole. They first needed to research the meaning behind individual animal symbols and to decide what animal best represented themselves, their family and friends. The results were absolutely spectacular, and their teacher, Mrs King, was delighted!
Our school secretary, Lydia, is currently enjoying her belated honeymoon trip. They are on a Mediterranean cruise and have enjoyed visiting historic sites including St Peter’s Square, the Colosseum, Pisa and Pompeii. We look forward to welcoming Lydia back on Tuesday.
The theme for our assembly this morning was ‘International Dawn Chorus Day’ which is this Sunday. Children were quick to join in a game to try and identify each bird from a snippet of its birdsong. One of our caretakers, Ant, rescued a tiny wren in the garden today. A lovely sight, but no photo to share with you unfortunately as Mandy was not quite quick enough with the camera!
