Last night, we held our first ever virtual parents evening using a piece of software called School Cloud. I must thank the Form 8 parents for being our guinea pigs. The system proved incredibly easy to use and even allowed parents who work away to attend the meeting. Next week it is the turn of Form 6.
Our Senior Leadership Team have been attending a series of training sessions this term to prepare for the launch of a new collaborative staff CPD process. Mrs Sleightholme, Mr Stazicker, Mrs Smith and Mrs Moss can be seen with Mr Ennion, assistant head at Thomas Hardye School, who was putting them through their paces. I understand the lunch he provided was up to scratch!
Mrs Wilson took the Under 8 and under 9 girls for their first netball match of the term against Dumpton. We are now playing the new Bee netball game. This is 4 a side across the court. All players can shoot. Mrs Wilson said Dumpton had already played a match and it showed in the scores. The U8’s lost 2 – 9 . The U9’s played as two teams. One team lost 0 – 5 and the other lost 0 – 8. Everyone tried hard and we were getting better the more we played. Next practice will be on shooting!!!
This afternoon, Mr Stazicker, Mr Holland and I took the U10, U11 and U12 Boys to Sherborne Prep for hockey matches. The U10s won their first match 3-1 and the goals were scored by Seb, Harvey and Hamish. The team played brilliantly with Ren Ren in goal (in his goalie kit below). Thanks to all the Sunninghill parents for brilliant support. U11 and U12 scores to follow in Friday’s blog.
Congratulations to ex-pupil Orlando Bailey for getting called up for England training week ahead of the Six Nations. He started his passion for rugby at Sunninghill, moved onto Thomas Hardye School and played for Dorchester Rugby Club. You can see Landy in his school kit (holding the ball) and his team mates after a Sunninghill game.
This is an amazing achievement and we wish him every success. Click on the Sky Sports log below for more details.
