We have received a recording of our pupil’s interviews and performances from a recent string day at Bryanston School. Three of our pupils were selected to come back and spend a day recording their pieces, receiving individual coaching from Bryanston staff and performing in the concert hall. As part of the day, the pupils were interviewed on Bryanston Radio and we have now been sent the full radio programme. Congratulations to Katy N, Kitty S and Astral N who are all featured!

Our Form 8 are having an amazing time on their outdoor education trip in Alicante. So many exciting and challenging activities and the scenery in the mountains is breath-taking (hopefully I have managed to hide the fact I am green with envy!).

Our sensational U11 school sailing team performed extremely well in an U11 competition yesterday at the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre. They finished 2nd overall out of seven schools. Out of 13 boats, congratulations go to Freddy H and Will H who individually finished 4th, and Leo H and Gregory V who finished 8th. The team benefited with the wind picking up slightly after the 2nd race as they prefer windier conditions. Mr Holland tells me it was amazing to watch the race live on the water (he was invited onto a parent’s boat) and to see our competitors displaying excellent team-work and communicating positively. They were all excellent self-managers and most importantly, had fun!

We welcomed Katie into school this morning with her gorgeous 9 week old baby Arlo. She was in for a visit and a catch-up; he seemed to enjoy all the attention and cuddles.

Lastly a good news story… Yesterday, one of our younger pupil’s purse was snatched by a seagull and deposited on the roof of the school house. The dad was duly pragmatic about it all but one of our maintenance staff, Ant, would not be out done. He fetched a ladder and went out onto the roof, fighting off the unwanted attentions from an angry seagull defending her nest! The girl and purse were reunited and I just wish I had been quicker and photographed him on the roof!
